Kondito takes you from an empty account to your first rental in a few minutes. When you sign in for the first time, a short guide walks you through the five steps below; the same steps appear as a Getting started checklist on the dashboard and tick themselves as you complete them. You can reopen the guide at any time from the user menu (top right) → Getting started.
1. Company details, currency and time zone
Open Company settings (left menu, owners only).
- Details: legal name, tax ID, trade register number, address. They are printed on the rental sheet.
- Currency, language and time zone: all dates are shown and entered in the company time zone. Changing the currency does not convert rates you have already entered.
- Rental rules:
- Return grace period: minutes past a full day that are not charged as an extra day (60 by default).
- Gap between rentals: minimum time between two rentals of the same product, for cleaning and checks (0 by default).
- Rates include VAT and the VAT rate.
- Signed contract required before activation: after the handover, the rental waits in "Awaiting contract" until the contract is uploaded.
- Personal data: whether to keep images of automatically read IDs, and how long inspection photos are kept (24 months by default).
2. Your first product, with rates
Go to Fleet → New. Enter the type, make, model, plate or serial number and the meter. Then the rates: price per day, week and month, included km or hours per day, the price of each extra km or hour, and the deposit. Details: Products and rates.

3. A customer and a rental
Go to Rentals → New, choose the product, the customer and the period. The panel on the right shows straight away whether the product is free and the estimated total. A new customer can be added from the same form with just a name and a phone number. Details: Rentals and Calendar and availability.
4. Your team
Under Users, add operators (desk work) and field agents (the phone app only). Users are unlimited on every plan. Details: Team and roles.
5. The field app on your phone
Open Kondito on your phone and sign in, with the same account if you do the handovers yourself. The Field app menu item takes you to the phone app, which also shows how to add it to the home screen: on iPhone in Safari, Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android in Chrome, ⋮ → Install app. Handovers and returns done there come with guided photos from the same angles, which is your evidence of the product's condition.
